Effective Methods For Getting Rid Of Blackheads

Effective Methods For Getting Rid Of Blackheads

Acne is a problem that most people suffer from at some point in their lives, and some unlucky people suffer from for all of their lives. Even after the pimples clear up, blackheads may remain. There are a few effective remedies for blackheads how to get rid of them, though, so you can look your best.

Blackheads are caused by debris that builds up inside a pore and can't get out. This debris is mostly made up of dead skin cells that are not being shed out onto the surface as they should be. Oil builds up in the pore because it is blocked by the dead skin cells, and the oil turns dark and hardens with exposure to air.

To remove these blemishes, the first thing you should try is washing your face only once a day, without soap. Using warm water to gently cleanse the area, and not washing it too often are very important. Repeated washing can actually make the skin irritated, and the problems worse, and the same is true of soap. Pat dry (do not rub) in order to avoid irritation, as well.

If this kind of washing is ineffective, you can try to use an acne clearing wash. Follow the directions on the bottle, and don't use more often than indicated. Your makeup or skin care products are another common source of this problem. Try different brands, or different types of skin care products to see if it helps. Always remove your makeup every night.

Unlike
pimples, blackheads can be fairly safely removed by squeezing. But be careful when doing this, in order to avoid scarring in the area, which can make the problem worse. First, clean the area carefully with a mild exfoliating scrub. Then rest a warm, wet washcloth on the area for 15 minutes. Finally, wash your hands, and then use tissue and even pressure on both sides of the blemish to squeeze out the oily debris.

Most blackheads that are squeezed out recur. Sometimes this is because the pores are not tight enough, and debris easily builds up in them. If you think this might be the problem, you can treat with a mild astringent such as lemon juice after squeezing out the debris. Hopefully, the acid will help to tighten the pores, and the blackhead will not reoccur.

Prevention is the key to making sure that your blemishes don't get worse. Anything that clogs the pores can create these annoyances, so as well as taking your makeup off at bedtime, consider wearing less. Always wash your face after sweating, as well. Use a mild soap and wash once or twice a day, no more and no less.

Skin conditions can be aggravated by your general state of health, so everything from eating right to getting enough sleep helps determine your susceptibility to acne. For the purposes of getting rid of blackheads, make sure that you exercise regularly, eat healthily, and get enough sleep every night, as well as properly cleansing and caring for your skin.
